Warita.net – The South Bolaang Mongondow (Bolsel) Regency Government is participating in the national agenda of inaugurating the operationalization of 1,061 Red and White Village/Sub-district Cooperatives (KDKMP) launched by the President of the Republic of Indonesia, Prabowo Subianto, Saturday (16/5/2026).

The activity, which took place virtually, was directly attended by the Bolsel Regent, Iskandar Kamaru, from the central activity location at the Merah Putih Village Cooperative in Tangagah Village, Bolaang Uki District.

Also present at the activity were the Forkopimda (Regional Leadership Coordination Forum) officials, heads of OPDs (Regional Apparatus Organizations), the Bolaang Uki District Head, village heads, members of the BPD (Village Consultative Body), and village cooperative management who are part of the development of this national strategic program.

The Red and White Cooperative Program itself was conceived as a step to strengthen the village community-based economy through the development of integrated and sustainable cooperatives. The presence of these cooperatives is expected to open business access, expand economic opportunities for the community, and strengthen village economic resilience.

In his statement, Iskandar Kamaru expressed that the development progress of the Red and White Cooperatives in Bolsel shows quite encouraging achievements. In fact, according to him, this progress is among the best in the Bolaang Mongondow Raya region and North Sulawesi.

“Alhamdulillah (Praise be to God), the development of cooperatives in Bolsel is progressing very well. This is certainly inseparable from the support of all parties, including the regional government which has assisted in providing land in several villages,” said the Regent.

He assessed that the support for land grants is an important step, considering that land scarcity is still a challenge in several areas.

Nevertheless, the Regent also highlighted the online selection process for cooperative managers. According to him, this mechanism needs to be evaluated because the passing standard is too high, resulting in no local individuals successfully passing the selection stage.

“We hope for policy adjustments, especially by considering the regional conditions. It should not be that the potential of local human resources is not accommodated,” said Iskandar.

The regional government, he continued, plans to submit official input to the relevant ministry so that the recruitment process provides more opportunities for local employees, especially village graduates who are considered to have great potential to manage cooperatives.

In addition, the Regent also asked the relevant regional perangkat (officials/agencies) to continue strengthening coordination in resolving various technical obstacles in cooperative development, including the procurement of construction materials such as steel frames, so that cooperative operations can soon run optimally.

With the simultaneous operational start of the Red and White Village/Sub-district Cooperatives throughout Indonesia, the Bolsel Regency Government hopes that village cooperatives can develop into the main drivers of the community’s economy while strengthening the welfare of residents at the village level on a sustainable basis.
