Warita.net – A solemn and religiously nuanced atmosphere colored the opening of the 31st Musabaqah Tilawatil Qur’an (MTQ) at the Bolaang Mongondow Selatan (Bolsel) Regency level, held on Monday (05/06/2026). The event took place in the Hall of the PLHUT Building of the local Ministry of Religious Affairs Office and became an important momentum in strengthening the propagation of the Qur’an in the region.

Several government elements and institutions attended this event, including Assistant I of the Bolsel Regional Secretariat H. Alsyafri Kadullah, S.Pd., M.E. representing the Regent, Head of the Bolsel Ministry of Religious Affairs Office H. Muh. Thaib Mokobombang, S.Ag., M.H, representatives from the Religious Court of Bolaang Uki, Chairman of LPTQ, Head of Kesra Bureau, head of Baznas, sub-district heads and their secretaries, Head of KUA, and heads of madrasahs throughout Bolsel Regency.

The series of activities began with a report from the organizing committee, which outlined the technical preparations and the objectives of holding the MTQ as a forum for guidance, development, and strengthening the propagation of the Qur’an within the community.

The 31st MTQ was officially opened by Assistant I H. Alsyafri Kadullah. In his speech, he expressed appreciation and gratitude to all parties who have contributed to the success of the event.

“We express our deepest gratitude to the regional government, all residents of Bolsel Regency, and various parties, including Baznas, who have contributed to the successful implementation of this event,” he said.

He emphasized that MTQ should not only be seen as a mere competition but as a strategic means to foster love for the Qur’an among Muslims.

According to him, the main essence of this activity is to produce a generation that is not only able to read the Qur’an correctly but also to understand, internalize, and practice the values contained within it in daily life.

Furthermore, he stressed the importance of collaboration between the regional government, religious leaders, and all elements of society in building the community’s closeness to the Qur’an. This synergy is considered a strategic step in instilling Qur’anic values as a sustainable life guideline.

On the same occasion, appreciation was also extended to the organizing committee, LPTQ of Bolsel Regency, the board of judges, and all parties who have worked hard for the success of the MTQ. Special thanks were also given to Baznas for their continued support despite budget constraints.

In the future, it is hoped that the regional government will continue to strengthen its support for the implementation of MTQ, including through adequate budget allocation. This step is believed to encourage increased interest among the younger generation in learning and loving the Qur’an.

“To the board of judges, it is expected that they will carry out their duties professionally and objectively to produce the best participants who are ready to compete at the provincial and national levels,” he said, while reminding participants to follow all competition series with full enthusiasm, showcase their best abilities, and uphold the values of sportsmanship.

Concluding his speech, Alsyafri hoped that this 31st MTQ would not only be a ceremonial agenda but would also have a real impact on nurturing a Qur’anic generation in Bolaang Mongondow Selatan.

“May this MTQ be a momentum to produce a generation that loves the Qur’an, has noble character, and can bring honor to the region at higher levels,” he concluded.
